- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine thawed hashbrowns, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Step 3: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and pour the hashbrown mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Step 4: If using, sprinkle the crushed cornflakes evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes until hot and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
- Step 6: Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can prepare the casserole the night before and store it in the refrigerator. It also freezes well.
