Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic to melted butter; cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant. Do not burn.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer for a few minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Gradually add Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and sauce is smooth and creamy. Add reserved pasta water, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed to thin the sauce.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in parsley (if using).
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. You can also add other vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the sauce.
