- Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently until completely melted and smooth.
- Add sweetened condensed milk to the melted butter. Stir well to combine thoroughly.
- Add chocolate chips, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Stir constantly over low heat until chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. Avoid burning.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans or walnuts, if desired.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a subtle kick. Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
