Instructions

  • Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
  • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. (This usually takes 1-2 minutes).
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and any optional mix-ins (nuts, marshmallows).
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • If using, sprinkle sea salt on top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  • Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
